The white-naped crane breeds in northeastern Mongolia, northeastern China, and adjacent areas of southeastern Russia. Different groups of the birds migrate to winter near the Yangtze River, the Korean Demilitarized Zone, and on Kyūshū in Japan.

The first snow of this winter is falling in the early morning when I'm going to Cheorwon for the Red-crowned Crane shooting. These are pictures of the Crane family taking off.

Among the winter migratory birds coming to Korea, I think these geese are the most visited migratory birds. The water deer running through the vast fields of Cheonsuman Bay is endemic to our country.

It is native to Japan and Korea. Vagrant birds have been recorded in Taiwan, eastern China and far-eastern Russia.
