티스토리 뷰
The great spotted woodpeckeris a medium-sized woodpecker with pied black and white plumage and a red patch on the lower belly.
Recognised subspecies vary by author from as few as 14 to nearly 30.
This is largely because changes are clinal with many intermediate forms.
