In May 2019, the Black Bulbul(White-headed morph) which was first found in Baengnyeong Island in Korea,

reappeared in Pohang.

This subspecies (H. l. leucocephalus:(Gmelin, JF, 1789) is a white-headed species found in southeastern China.

 

The Blacck Bulbuls are ten subspecies are currently recognized.

There are a number of subspecies, mostly varying in the shade of the body plumage which ranges from grey to black, and some also occur in white-headed morphs, as also suggested by its specific epithet leucocephalus, literally "white head".

 

This bulbul is found in broad-leaved forests, cultivation and gardens mainly in hilly areas.
